In December 2008, we held the very first Silicon Valley Rocks! at the Great American Music Hall. Created as a benefit for a music education non-profit, the idea was to feature tech talent who also moonlight as musicians Past performers have included Randi Zuckerberg (debuting with the Open Source Band), Drew Houston of Dropbox, Tim Chang of Mayfield Ventures, and many others. We held the show for six years running, and then, in typical Silicon Valley fashion, I took a break to focus on a startup.
Who We Support
Now we are back! While we’re still devoted to music education, we decided that this fun event could be expanded to benefit causes that are important to our community and our band members. This year, we’re proud to support the American Diabetes Association.
Nearly 115 million Americans have diabetes or prediabetes and are striving to manage their lives while living with the disease. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) is the nation’s leading voluntary health organization fighting to bend the curve on the diabetes epidemic and help people living with diabetes thrive. We’re proud to support them.
Since Silicon Valley Rocks! is a fundraising event, we’re looking for donations for our raffle, sponsorships (very affordable and include VIP tickets), and volunteers. Please contact us if you want to get involved!
